Nephrology

The Division of Pediatric Nephrology provides the region’s only pediatric nephrology service. The division manages a full range of kidney and urinary tract disorders including: 

  • Acute renal failure
  • Malformations of the kidneys, including aplasia, dysplasia and anatomical abnormalities
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • Electrolyte disorders
  • Hematuria (blood in urine)
  • Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS)
  • Hereditary glomerular diseases and other hereditary kidney diseases
  • Hypertension
  • Glomerulonephritis
  • Kidney biopsy
  • Kidney stones
  • Kidney transplant
  • Nephrotic syndrome
  • Polycystic kidney disease
  • Proteinuria (protein in urine)
  • Renal failure
  • Renal insufficiency
  • Renal tubular acidosis
  • Spina bifida (kidney evaluation)
  • Obstructive nephropathies (UPJ, UVJ, PUV, Eagle-Barrett Syndrome, etc.)
  • Urinary-tract abnormalities and infections
  • Vasculitis (HSP, SLE, Wegner's)
